My dad bought this Hobie in 1973 and raced it quite a bit. After he got married it sat at my family's cabin in northern Wisconsin for pretty much my whole life. When my parents were divorced a few years ago my dad sold the boat to my uncle who did not apparently use it much. I purchased the Hobie back for $1000 in January of this year (2004) and plan to fix it up and use it recreationally on the weekends.
This journal will chronicle the cleaning and what restoration I deem necessary over the next several weeks.
